Need-to-knows
Spending the night at Maroela?
Being a self-catering eco-friendly lodge, an emphasis is placed on providing a space for guests to enjoy their time in nature according to their own schedule - whether it be for an afternoon out or a couple of days away. The lodge provides guests with units that offer all the necessary modern comforts one could need, while staying true to outdoor living. Want to relax by the pool, have a braai, see animals in nature on a game drive, or visit an animal sanctuary in the surroundings; Maroela Treetop Lodge can accommodate you.
The lodge boasts 20 units that are equipped with a king-size bed (can be configured into 2 single beds), an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath and a shower, with extra outdoor showers in all ground floor units, a basic kitchenette and air-conditioning for the hot summer days...and nights. These ground floor (and selected top floor) units each have their own braai facility nestled under a private lapa with lounge and dining seating. The thatched units sleep between 2 and 4 persons. All units have their own entrance and easy access to parking. The units also come standard with a coffee/tea station, hairdryer as well as quality linen and towels.
Guests who will be spending the night with us are welcome to check-in between 2pm and 7pm, and check-out no later than 10am (or as arranged).

Want to spend your time at Maroela with your own leisure/conference facilities separate from the shared spaces? No problem!
We house a private venue (better known as The Bush Baby) at a nominal fee to guests who wish to gather as a group for a weekend of Rest & Relaxation, or hold a self-catered conference. The facility has its own private lapa that seats up to 20 persons at a single dining table, has lounge seating, a bar, boma area and 2 outdoor braai stands, a kitchen area, separate male and female toilets, a conference centre for 25, as well as a deck overlooking a private pool and baby/splash pool.

Recreational Activities
We encourage our guests to disconnect with the outside world, and reconnect with themselves and nature when staying at Maroela Treetop Lodge. We do however have access to an internet connection for those who may require this; the Wi-Fi connection is only accessible in certain parts of the lodge and is not accessible from the rooms.
The lodge boasts a large swimming pool perfect for all ages as it has a walk-in style that has both shallow and deeper ends, with sun beds, grassy areas and lapa's surrounding this. In the area you will also find darts, table tennis as well as a pool table! We also have a volleyball pit and children's play are equipped with a small jungle gym. It is important to note that these facilities are used in a shared capacity and it is the visitors duty to use these spaces responsibly, and supervise as necessary (as in the case with children by the pool etc.). With an abundance of ways to break-away, and things to do within the lodge, we hope to satisfy your stay!
All activities that we may need to acquire from other service providers must be paid in full upon booking such (for example game drives and team building activities). For more information on game drives and things to do in the surroundings, please visit our Surroundings page.

Need supplies?
While we definitely recommend doing a grocery and supply shop beforehand, we do have The Safari Mall located some 5,8 km’s away which provides the full spectrum of necessities required for a weekend away, including a butcher, liquor store, take-aways, groceries, wood, fire, ice and a filling station. While this store is nearby and convenient to pop into when you need something, there are also more stores a little further out in the area.
